Fellowship Baptist Church will begin its Awana program on Wednesday, Sept. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m., for ages three through fifth grade. Supper will be served and the students will be registered at 6 p.m. followed by a brief parent meeting and finishing up with volunteer training at 8 p.m.
According to Awana’s website, Awana is a global, nonprofit ministry with fully integrated evangelism and long-term discipleship programs for ages two to 18 that actively involves parents and church leaders.
At Fellowship Baptist Church, through Awana, the children will play games, memorize Bible versus and participate in a large group Bible teaching. There are three groups. The Cubbies are three to four year olds, the Sparks are Kindergarten through second grade and the Truth and Training (T&T) group is third through fifth grade.
The first official club meeting will be Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 6 p.m. The Cubbies will meet in the Game Time room and the Sparks and T&T will meet in the sanctuary for the opening ceremony.
