Gladys Duffy, 71, of Monticello, is being cited with failure to yield right of way following a vehicle crash on Wednesday, Aug. 17, around 1:45 p.m.
Duffy was stopped at a stop sign facing north at the intersection of County Road 257 and U.S. Hwy 90, in Jefferson County, while Calvin Malone, 51, of Greenville, was traveling eastbound on Hwy 90.
As Malone's 1993 Toyota Camry approached the intersection, Duffy traveled into the roadway and right into Malone's course of travel.
The front of Malone's car collided with the left side of Duffy's 2012 Jeep Patriot.
Malone's vehicle came to a final rest facing northwest on the northern shoulder of Hwy 90, while Duffy's vehicle came to a rest on the southern shoulder of Hwy 90, facing southeast.
Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) oversaw the scene with assistance from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and the Jefferson County EMS.
Malone escaped the wreck unharmed, but Duffy was transported to Archbold Memorial Hospital, in Thomasville, Ga., with minor injuries.
As Malone had the legal right-of-way, Duffy is facing charges by FHP.
