Emerald’s Gem Box: Either lead, follow or get out of the way

On Thursday President Obama declared that ISIS had been “contained.” On Friday ISIS claimed responsibility for one of the worst attacks in recent European history; an attack that claimed approximately 129 lives, as of yet. How is it (or WHY is it) that our President can be so wrong – so often? Could it be because he doesn’t want to bring harm to his Muslim “brothers?” In the wake of Paris’ turmoil, we all have come to know that other countries will not look to the United States for help or leadership; for we have a president that is afraid to stand for anything. Instead of taking a stand against the terrorists groups, the USA has helped them by funding them through, and with, our American dollars. French President Hollande released the following statement in the aftermath of his country being attacked, “It is an act of war that was waged by a terrorist army, a jihadist army, by Daesh, against France. This act of war was prepared and planned from the outside, with accomplices inside. France, because it was freely, cowardly attacked, will be merciless against the terrorists.” Mr. Hollande then added, “France will triumph over barbarism.” The French President showed more leadership in that one day than President Obama has shown in seven years. He identified who the enemy was and publicly said, and promised, to get revenge. Meanwhile, back in the USA, our President will say/do things like “I don’t think they’re gaining strength.”

Or, in reference to the Benghazi attack he blamed it on a video instead of admitting that our US embassy had been attacked by terrorists. Here, in the United States, instead of fighting terrorism our president continues to set Islamic terrorists free. Just two months ago, in September, Abdul Rahman Shalabi was released from Guantanamo. Shalabi was described as an Osama bin Laden bodyguard and a member of al-Qaeda. Sunday, just TWO DAYS after ISIS attacked Paris, our government announced the transfer of five Yemeni men from Guantanamo Bay to the United Arab Emirates. If that isn’t a slap in the face to Paris, I don’t know what is! The men were identified as (according to Pentagon documents):  Ali al-Razihi - a man who was profiled by U.S. military intelligence as an Osama bin Laden bodyguard. Khalid al-Qadasi - a probable member of al-Qaeda who participated in armed hostilities against US and Coalition forces in Usama Bin Laden’s (UBL) Tora Bora Complex in Afghanistan (AF) and is assessed to have received al-Qaeda militant training and was captured with a large group of Taliban and al-Qaida fighters. Sulayman al-Nahdi – assessed to be a member of al-Qaeda who participated in hostilities against US and Coalition forces, traveled to Afghanistan (AF) for jihad, and his travel was facilitated by jihadist recruiters. He attended training at extremist camps and stayed in al-Qaeda sponsored guesthouses. JTF-GTMO determined this detainee to be:Fahmi al-Asani Adil al-Busays - openly admitted to going to Afghanistan to fight jihad against the Northern Alliance, admitted to receiving training at al-Qaeda's training camp in Afghanistan, "deceptive" with interrogators, and that he possibly believed he would receive less punishment if he claimed affiliation with the Taliban, rather than al-Qaeda. Fahmi Salem Said – alleged to have been a member of al-Qaeda and admitted to receiving training at the Al Farouq training camp.

Al-Asani was present when Bin Laden and other high-ranking associates visited Al Farouq, according to U.S. documents. His name was also found on a list of suspected al-Qaeda members that was recovered during the raid of a safe house. Not only does our president release from prison men that are a great potential danger to the United States, he is also still going to allow Syrian refugees into the United States. Wake up America – President Obama does not care about the United States of America’s safety. He has his own political agenda and has been given power to do what he wants for the last seven years. The scary part is we still have a year to go. The scarier part is who will become the next president? There are several presidential candidates that are running for the next president that have the same views and thoughts as our current president. They don’t see a problem in releasing al-Qaeda members from prison; they don’t see a problem in letting Syrian refugees into the USA when Syria is our enemy. In fact Bernie Sanders said he thought climate change is still our worst problem we face. Hillary Clinton is quoted as saying “we must empathize with our enemy.” The President of the United States of America is supposed to protect the people of the United States of America. We need a real leader! Please – think before you vote!!!! Think about America! Think about our children! My Dad used to always say, “Either lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way.” A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Think about it! Until then….I’ll see you around the town!
