On Thursday, April 21, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office S.E.R.T. team executed a narcotic search warrant along with felony arrest warrants at the home of Ernest Bernard Kitchen, 52, located at 340 SW Lee Ave., in Madison.
According to Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart, the search warrant and arrest warrants were obtained as a result of a covert illegal drug distribution investigation conducted by the Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force. Investigators recovered additional crack cocaine, prescription pills, digital scales, packaging material and other drug paraphernalia items used to facilitate drug sales.
Kitchen’s previous arrest/charge history dates back to 1982 with charges that include burglary, larceny, carrying a concealed weapon, marijuana possession, probation violation, making false report, cocaine possession, cocaine possession with intent to distribute, failure to appear, sell of counterfeit crack cocaine along with counterfeit crack cocaine possession, cocaine delivery, flight/escape, battery, possession of controlled substances, DUI, drug possession, fleeing /eluding law enforcement and resisting without violence.
Also arrested during the narcotic search was Ellade Edwards, 49, of Madison, for possession of drug paraphernalia/equipment.
Kitchen is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance, sale of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a church, possession of controlled substance without prescription, possession of certain drugs without prescription, possession of marijuana less than 20 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia/equipment.
