A two vehicle wreck resulted in one being charged with failure to drive in a single lane on Friday, Oct. 2 at 2:46 p.m. on Interstate 10 near mile marker 266 in Madison. According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, Jorge Pelaez Nodarse, 44, of Plantation, Fl. was traveling westbound on the north shoulder of Interstate 10 in his 2011 BMW 328i. Elier Pais, 37, of Blountstown was traveling westbound in the outside westbound lane of Interstate 10 in his 2012 Dodge Caravan behind Nodarse. Nodarse began to merge into the outside lane in front of Pais. The front right of Pais’ vehicle collided with the rear left of Nodarse’s vehicle. After the collision, Pais began to travel in a southwesterly direction.
Nodarse crossed over the inside lane and came to a controlled stop in the median of Interstate 10 facing west. Pais’ vehicle came to a controlled stop onto the north shoulder of Interstate 10 and came to a final rest facing west. Madison County EMS and the Florida Department of Agriculture assisted. Pais and his four passengers: Iraida Pais, 34 and three children: ages three, nine and 13, all of Blountstown, Fl. received no injuries. Nodarse received no injuries and was charged with failure to drive in a single lane.
