On Thursday, April 14, Friday, April 15 and Saturday, April 16, the City of Madison will be abuzz with the various festivities for the annual Down Home Days festival.
There will be fun for all ages, ranging from the pet show on Thursday, April 14, the Colin P. Kelly run on Saturday, April 16 and the usual festivities such as vendors, live entertainment, the parade and newly introducing, the Freestyle Connection BMX All-Age Event.
Freestyle Connection will be performing live bike stunts while also spreading awareness about bicycle safety, anti-bullying, living tobacco free and encouraging their audience to accomplish their goals.
The girls of Becky’s Dance Steps Studio will be performing on Friday, April 15. They will also be selling items; all proceeds will benefit the dancers.
The annual Frog Hop Contest will again be taking place at the Madison County Courthouse; sponsors Clerk of the Court Tim Sanders and Dr. John Lewis of the Madison Veterinary Clinic wish good luck to every participant during this year’s hop!
What is a small-town festival without a parade? The Down Home Days parade will take place on Saturday, April 16; those interested in entering a float can do so by filling out the online forum at http://madisonfl.org/festivals.php or by going to the Madison County Chamber of Commerce, located at 316 SW Pinckney St. Parade application fees range from $15 to $30. Remember, this year’s Down Home Day’s festival theme is “Keep It Local!”
