Zackery Peterson is a talented and driven individual every day of the week, but on Fridays during football season, you can catch him underneath the bright lights. He is the official stats keeper for the Aucilla Warriors. However, to Zackery, keeping stats is about a whole lot more.
Zack is the son of John and Connie Peterson, of Madison. He enjoys spending time with his friends and family and participating in school and church activities. Zack is a member of Aucilla’s Beta Club, Student Council, FCA, Living Waters and Brain Bowl all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Considering Peterson’s personal stats, to say that he is a driven individual is an understatement.
“It’s all about balance,” said Peterson. “You can’t over stretch yourself to the point where you don’t have time for family. You also have to enjoy yourself and have fun. Try your best, and leave the rest to God.”
Zackery especially enjoys himself on the football field. “I love the excitement,” said Peterson. “I am right on the field with the players and I feel like I am part of the team. We’re family out there.”
Zackery attributes his academic and extra-curricular successes to a strong relationship with his parents. He especially looks up to his dad. “He has always taught me to be respectful, to be an achiever, to have integrity and, most importantly, to live a life that is acceptable to God,” said Peterson. “My dad goes out of his way to spend time with me and his love for me is unquestionable.”
Zackery is undecided on post-graduation plans, however he has narrowed his endeavors down to three possible options: a career in software development, a lawyer or a history teacher. “I have always loved history,” said Peterson. It is evident that wherever Zackery ends up, he will have done his best. That is all that any of us can do.
