On Monday, March 14 at around 1:44 p.m., a driver from Crescent City, Fl. (whose name was not provided by the Florida Highway Patrol due to the sensitivity of the case) was traveling west on Hwy 90 just east of Greenville and admitted to purposefully driving off the road in an attempt to hit a tree and commit vehicular suicide.
The driver’s four-door Ford Sudan struck a tree on the north shoulder of the road but only mild injuries were sustained.
The driver was then transported to Madison County Memorial Hospital and there admitted to their endeavor to commit suicide. Later, the driver voluntarily submitted to the Baker Act and was then transported to the Apalachee Center in Tallahassee to be given a full mental evaluation.
