After defeating Port St. Joe in the Class 1A state semifinal game held on Tuesday, Feb. 16 in Lakeland, Fl., with a final score of 53-48, the Madison County High School Cowgirls moved on to face the Trenton Lady Tigers in the State Class 1A Championship on Wednesday, Feb. 17. The Cowgirls tore up the Tigers with a final score of 73-58, ultimately making history, as this is the first time the Cowgirls have ever won the State Championship.
