Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church is hosting an Indoor Yard Sale to sponsor a mission trip to St. Vincent’s Island for Pastor Timmy Dyke and his family. There will be books, dishes, furniture and more on sale. It will be held Friday, Aug. 22 and Saturday, Aug. 23 from 8 a.m. until noon at 233 SE Range Ave. in Madison. August 23
Rev. Debra Warner, Pastor and Jeslamb A.M.E. Church will be celebrating Pastor Appreciation services Saturday evening, August 23, at 7 p.m., with Minister Catherine Murphy speaking; and on Sunday morning, August 24, at 11 a.m., with speaker Rev. Vickie Mays from Mt. Nebo A.M.E. Church in Madison. Everyone is invited to come out and help celebrate this occasion.
August 23
Genesis Missionary Baptist Church invites students and parents to their Annual Back-To-School Outreach Rally on Saturday, August 23, with registration beginning at 9:30 a.m.
At 10 a.m. exciting and innovative sessions have been planned to ensure students will have a successful year. Programs will include a Backyard Bible Study/Praise and Worship Session, a “Keys To School Success” skit and a

August 31
Rev. Charles W. Evans, Sr., the Pastor at Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church Madison, will begin serving his 16th consecutive year at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, 576 SW Dade St. A celebration will be held in his honor on August 31  at Mt. Zion, from 3 – 5 p.m. The public is invited to attend, as he will be recognized for his religious and community services and as the church’s longest sitting Pastor.  A healthy menu of food assortments will be served immediately after the program.  If there is anything special that community members would like to declare, please contact Jerome Wyche, President, Stewards Board, at 464-0196.
September 10
The seniors who attend the Senior Citizen Center are planning their October 9 trip to the Holy Land Experience in Orlando and invite all seniors to go. Tickets to get in the Experience are $35 and cost for the bus ride is $52 per person. If you are interested in this trip and would like to sign up, or if you have any questions, come by the Senior Center, located at 1161 SW Harvey Greene Drive in Madison. Money for tickets and bus ride must be collected by September 10.
