Area athletes named to All Big-Bend High School Basketball Team

Rick Patrick: Greene Publishing, Inc. The Tallahassee Democrat has named their 2017 All Big-Bend High School Basketball Team. For fans of Madison County High School (MCHS) and Aucilla Christian Academy (ACA), there are a few familiar names on the list. MCHS senior Josiah Mitchell was named to the second team All Big-Bend boys’ team. Mitchell averaged 13.7 points per game and eight rebounds per game for the Cowboys. MCHS lifts a second runner-up finish at district weight-lifting meet

Chris Jones: Greene Publishing, Inc. The Madison County High School (MCHS)’s boys competitive weight-lifting team brought the heat to their recent district meet on Friday, Mar. 10, in Fort White. Collectively, the team won first place in five of the 10 weight classes. The team finished as district runner-up to Bradford County High School, the defending State Champions. Cowboys drop two games

On Thursday, Mar. 9, the Madison County High School (MCHS) Cowboys opened their home baseball schedule by honoring Veterans with special seating, free concessions, etc. It was a fitting tribute to those who have served our nation with honor. The game against Suwannee County High School resulted in a tough loss for the Cowboys.
