A memorial service for Joel P. Barrett, Jr. is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 11 a.m. at Rocky Springs United Methodist Church. Rev. Barrett died in August in Reno, Nev. after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Hurst Barrett, five children and several grandchildren. Local survivors include a sister, Virginia B. Ella Ruth Givens Tillman, 66, of Madison, passed at home, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, Dec. 12.  Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Madison, with burial in Concord Cemetery, Greenville.  Viewing-visitation is at the church on Friday from 5-6:30 p.m.  She was employed with the Florida Department of Revenue in Child Support Enforcement.  At New Mt. Frances Christine Mays Millinor died peacefully in her Madison home on Dec. 10 at the age of 98. Christine was born Oct. 25, 1917 in Monticello and was the daughter of Dannitte Hill Mays and Francis Garwood Mays, both of whom were from Jefferson County Pioneer families. After completing her studies at Florida State College for woman in Tallahassee, Christine moved to Madison County to become a schoolteacher at Cherry Lake.
