Nancy Taylor: Greene Publishing, Inc. Melva Morfaw serves St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and the community as the director of Shepherd’s Hands, a free medical clinic offered to members of the community who have no insurance and meet certain income qualifications. Morfaw was instrumental in opening the clinic in September of 2016. She had worked in a similar-style clinic when she lived in California, and she presented the idea to the members of St. Mary’s, and she helped see the vision through to fruition. Volunteers still needed for Bible reading April 30 – May 4, 2017

Nancy Taylor: Greene Publishing, Inc. The Madison County Christian Ministerial Association (MCCMA) needs volunteers to read the Bible at the gazebo at Four Freedoms Park, (across from the Madison County Courthouse) between April 30 and May 4. Volunteers will read the Bible, in 15-minute shifts, working 24/7 throughout the entire week leading up to the National Day of Prayer, on May 4. The goal is to read through the entire bible, old and new testaments, during the week. The readings are scheduled to begin Sunday, April 30, at 6 p.m….

Madison County Christian Ministerial Association elects new officers

The Madison County Christian Ministerial Association (MCCMA) held their monthly meeting Thursday, April 13, in the Board Room at Madison County Memorial Hospital (MCMH). Following a time of fellowship during breakfast, the ministers opened their meeting. The minutes from the previous meeting were approved, and Rev. Retis Flowers reported on the Association’s finances. Rev. Paul Rudloff reported the need for more volunteers for the bible reading at the gazebo during the week before the National Day of Prayer.
