The following Madison County High School students have been top performers in the business arena and are recognized for their grades, hard work, teamwork and leadership abilities for this school year.

Jaquan Robinson: “Class of 2015, and this is my final year as a student of MCHS (Madison County High School). Throughout these many years, I have been involved in various clubs and activities. Over the course of four years at MCHS I have accumulative GPA of 3.4 - 3.7, and I was the second place winner for the school’s Science Fair my 9th grade year. There are also many different extra curriculum activities and clubs that I was involved with such as: FLBA (Future Business Leaders of America) member for two years and I held the office of Secretary/Recorder in my Junior year, and BETA (two years). I have obtained all the industry certifications that the Career and Technical Education Business Education had to offer: Microsoft Office Specialist and Adobe Certified Associate for Photoshop, Flash, and Dreamweaver. In the near future I plan to attend MESA Community College in Arizona for two years and transfer to Phoenix University to pursue a degree in Business and Finance.”

Bradley Anderson: “Class of 2016; my weighted GPA is 3.971 and I have a current class ranking of 13. I have garnered many awards and recognitions while being a student at MCHS (Madison County High School): during 2013-2014 school year. I won First place at the Science Fair for Madison County High School held at North Florida Community College, earned industry certification for Microsoft Word Specialist, and Adobe Certified Associate for Photoshop, Flash, and Dreamweaver. Actively involved in the BETA Club, National Honors Society, and selected as Student of the Month for English II Honors in 2013, and was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for Criminal Justice Operations II during the Career and Technical Education Month (February). I plan to pursue a career in Computer Engineering, or a similar related field, with my preferred institutes being Georgia Technical Institute or Massachusetts Institute of Technology. My goals for my senior year are to do my best by taking Advanced Placement courses and plan on earning Microsoft Office Specialist industry certification.”

Mishaila Berman: “I am a ninth grader at Madison County High School. I currently maintain a 4.0 GPA and I am enlisted in a Research Class, Ceramics 1, Web Development, and HOPE PE. In my years of school, I have received two first places and one second place Spelling Bee Awards, and this year at Madison County High School a third place for a Science Fair Award. I have also received Industry Certification for Microsoft Office from Madison Central and Adobe Certified Associate for Photoshop and Flash from the high school. The career choice I am currently focused on is being a Storyboard Artist. I plan to attend college after graduation, but undecided on the college I’d like to attend. My goal is to obtain a Master’s Degree in Art/Design/Graphics.”

Dakota Mobley: “I am a tenth grader and a member of MaCoHi, BETA and Art clubs. I currently have a 3.565 weighted GPA. I have received industry certification through our Career and Technical Education of Business in Microsoft Office and Adobe Certified Associate for Photoshop and Flash, and currently working on getting a ServSafe certification. I plan to go into a career in fashion and/or game design and development through the Rhode Island School of Design. I am not currently involved in many extra-curricular activities this year, but next year I am considering being a member of the volleyball team and being a member of our school’s Future Business Leaders of America. The things I like most about being at the high school are the certification opportunities within the Career and Technical Education Department.”

Talena Voss: “Class of 2015; I have a weighted GPA of 4.082. I’ve garnered many awards: Third Place in the 2014-205 Science Fair, first, second, and third place in Creative Writing throughout various years, Dean List in 8th grade and on the A Honor roll from Pre-K through 7th grade. While attending Madison County Central School, in 8th grade, I won various academic awards such as top in my Algebra I Class and I was Valedictorian for my graduating class. I am currently the President of both Future Business Leaders of America and Art Club, and a member of BETA Club. I have achieved Industry Certification for Microsoft Office Specialist and Adobe Certified Associates for Photoshop, Flash, and Dreamweaver. I am also the Assistant Web Master for the Madison County High School web site. Equally, I am a volunteer at my local church, Lee United Methodist Church, doing various tasks such as working with the elementary aged youth and volunteering my time in the church office. I will be attending Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Fl., for four years beginning this Fall. My major will be Criminology and my career path of choice to become a Crime Scene Investigator or possibly a detective. My favorite part of Madison County High School has been the teachers. They have always encouraged me to do my best and I have always been helpful in teaching the material of their particular subject.”

Cecilia Oro: “I am a ninth grader at Madison County High School and I currently have a GPA of 3.7. Some extracurricular activities I am involved in are band, Physical Education, Ceramics, and Introduction to Information Technology, where I received Microsoft Office Industry Certification. I’ve received many awards throughout my years in school while attending schools in Madison, such as, Citizenship, A-B Honor Roll, participation award for Tropicana Speech Contest, completing a year in SSTRIDE (Students Striving to Read Intellectual Diversity Excellence), as well as being a member of SSTRIDE, Secretary of Future Business Leaders of America, BETA, Hispanic, and SWAT. I plan to attend Florida State University through the SSTRIDE program, and to receive a bachelors in medicine; I’d like to become some form of physician.”

Kylie Andrews: “My current GPA is 3.8 and I am in the 9th grade at Madison County High School. The electives that I am enrolled in are Ceramics 1, Research 1, Introduction to Information Technology, and Biotechnology. So far, I have received my Industry Certification for Microsoft Office Specialist, I am a member of the BETA Club, Art Club, and on the school’s yearbook committee. Earlier this year, I placed first place in the Chemistry Division and received second place overall in the school Science Fair. I attended the regional Science Fair at Gateway College in Lake City—it was a fun experience. After high school, I plan to attend either the University of Florida or Florida State University in pursue of a degree in Marine Biology. My career goal is to work with marine life in a research or rescue facility.”

Alexis S. Kornegay: “I am a ninth grader at Madison County High School with a weighted GPA of 4.4. I have received Microsoft Office Specialist Industry and I am a member of the BETA Club, Madison County Vaquero Guard, Tennis Team, and Financial Officer of Future Business Leaders of America. When I graduate from high school, I plan to attend Florida State University or Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University with a full scholarship, and major in Pre-Physical Therapy. My goal in college is to obtain a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy so I can later enter the career path of being a Sports Physical Therapist.”

Danny Odom: “I am an eleventh grader at Madison County High School with a GPA of 3.08. My favorite electives are Math and the wide variety of computer classes provided by the Career and Technical Education/Business Technical Education. Considering all of my achievements in these two electives, my friends and family suggest several career paths that would be of interest to me: contractor, architect, mechanic, and/or even being a video game designer. My goal is to go to college or possibly attend a technical institute to enhance my technical and computer programing abilities for my life-time career. I’m am a member of the school’s High School High Tech, and last year I earned an industry certification as an Microsoft Office Specialist and this year Adobe Certified Associate in Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver. Whatever I desire to do after high school, I’m confident I will be well-prepared for it.”
