A driver overcorrected and overturned his 2003 Ford Explorer on Tuesday, August 25 at 10:55 a.m. on County Road 255 near Sleepy Hollow Street. According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, Mark Curtis Johnson, 48, of Mayo, Fl., was traveling northbound on County Road 255 in the northbound lane. Johnson’s 2003 Ford Explorer traveled onto the eastern shoulder of the roadway and continued traveling in a northerly direction. Johnson overcorrected and steered the vehicle to the left causing it to travel across both lanes of County Road 255 and onto the western shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle continued traveling in a northwesterly direction and the front of the vehicle collided with several small trees. The vehicle then rotated one half of a turn counterclockwise and rolled over onto its right side. The vehicle came to final rest facing southwest on its right side on the western shoulder of County Road 255. Johnson was transported to the Madison County Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. He was charged with failure to maintain in proper lane. FHP was assisted by Madison County EMS, Madison County Fire Rescue and Madison County Sheriff's Office.
