Burns Funeral Home’s Open House Draws A Crowd

August 12 was a special day for the Joe P. Burns Funeral Home, with a ribbon cutting, and open house lasting all afternoon and a chapel dedication that evening to round out the day. Steve McHargue was the guest speaker at the dedication service.
Owners and funeral directors Steve Green and Tommy Murrow wanted people to be able to come by at their convenience any time that afternoon and take a look at the facility on the shore of Lake Frances.
Green had stated earlier that he had wanted to come back to Madison County for many years, a place where many of his family members still live around the Lee area, where his grandfather grew up in the 1930s.
Several months ago, when he and Murrow had the chance to expand their funeral home business into Madison, they accepted the challenge, purchased the old Van H.
