The Lee Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. at Kinsey Hall. The first item for discussion was appointing a new council member after Councilwoman Donna Muller for Group 4 reigned. The Council appointed Lee resident, Ronnie Bass to fill the council position. Bass and his wife Kathy have been Lee residents for 15 years. He is the General Manager for Plantation Propane in Thomasville, Ga. Bass plans on using his business knowledge to help and support the Town of Lee. Once sworn in, Bass took his place alongside the other council members. Lee Elementary School asked to use the soccer goals that are at Ben Blair Park. Since the goals were purchased with grant money 10 years ago, the council voted to loan the goals to the school if donation was unacceptable with the grant. Next on the agenda, the council voted to demolish the tree house that is located at Ben Blair Park due to safety issues. A public hearing was held for the first reading of the Town of Lee Utilities Ordinance. The ordinance provides a clear statement on rules and duties of connecting to utilities, penalties and enforcement. The second and final reading will be on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m.
