On Monday, June 27, Madison Fire Rescue responded to a call in the southwestern section of the county regarding a barn fire caused by ignited bales of hay. Upon putting out the flames, it was discovered that the owner of the bales had caught them on fire while attempting to burn out a wasp nest. Aside from the unsalvageable hay bales, the damage was kept to a minimum and the metal barn escaped serious ruin.
