Boot Drive scheduled for Saturday
While not much was on the agenda for the Dec. 1 city meeting in Lee, a few interesting topics were brought up. Town Manager, John Anderson, informed the council of that the Family Dollar in Lee finally had its slab poured on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and plans to keep the council and citizens updated on the status of the construction. He also brought to the council an update of the pumps and repair of the Annette Lift Station. Despite set backs, site inspections and pump installations are planned to take place within the next couple of weeks. Other business included community feedback on water interest billing rates and motions were made for paying bills. Finally, discussion was exchanged about the Boot Drive for the Lee Volunteer Fire Department. Saturday, Dec. 5, volunteer firefighters will be standing out next to the caution light intersection of Hwy 90 and 255. People driving through Lee as well as Lee habitants are encouraged to support their small town fire department by putting forth donations of any amount.
