Richard Sweitzer, sentenced to 15 years and 10 years probation

Richard Sweitzer, who was arrested on Oct.17, 2012 on one count of capital sexual battery on a victim under 12 years old, accepted a plea bargain Thursday morning, Feb. 7. Schweitzer pled guilty to reduced charges. These charges were three counts of sexual abuse of a minor.
Sweitzer entered his plea during a pre-trial hearing.
Accusations made by Sweitzer’s accusers never altered or wavered. The state attorney agreed to accept the plea bargain in order to avoid a trial and get the sentence they wanted.
Sweitzer was sentenced to 15 years in prison, plus 10 years probation.

Agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Tallahassee Regional Operations Center yesterday arrested Richard George Sweitzer, 65, of Madison, Fla., for one count of capital sexual battery on a victim under 12 years of age.

The investigation began in September 2012, when FDLE was provided information relating to this case that allowed agents to secure a warrant for his arrest. The alleged crime occurred in Madison County.

The investigation is continuing.

Sweitzer was booked into the Madison County Jail and his bond is $250,000.00.

Corey Termayne Leland has registered as a sex offender in Madison with an address of 1211 MLK Drive.
Leland’s qualifying offense was sexual battery/coercion by threat. He was adjudicated guilty on the charge in 1997.
Leland is a 37-year-old black male, who stands 6’1” and weighs 190 pounds.
Leland has black hair and brown eyes.
Identifying marks on his body include tattoos of skull, a clown, a pair of dice and the names “Tina” and “Corey.”
