Progress Energy Office Burglarized
Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on Friday the 18th day of February 2011 Deputies responded to a report of burglary and grand theft at the Madison Progress Energy Office and equipment storage yard. Upon arrival, Deputies discovered unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered the storage yard compound by cutting through the Southwest corner of the perimeter fence. After gaining entry, suspect(s) entered several offices and buildings removing property to include large quantities of spooled barbed wire, copper wire, batteries and other miscellaneous items. The estimated value of property taken exceeds $15,000.00.
