Easter Service, Egg Hunt and Lunch Planned At Midway Church of God
Midway Church of God will hold an Easter service Sunday morning. The service will be immediate followed by an Easter egg hunt for the children and finger foods for lunch. Everyone is welcome to attend. Midway Church of God is located at 2485 SE Midway Church Road, just off County Road 255, south of the interstate Lee exit, or off Highway 53, south of the interstate, Madison exit.
Obituary: Vernelle B. Allen
Vernelle B. Allen of Dowling Park, Florida passed away on Monday,
February 20, 2012, at Haven Hospice in Lake City, after a two month
struggle with melanoma. She was born in Sanford, Florida, on July 31,
1937 to Ira and Charity Brewer.
Mrs. Allen was married to the late Louie C. Allen. She was a public
school teacher in the Suwannee County School System for 30 years. She
was very active in her church, the Midway Church of God, where she
served as pastor’’s assistant and coordinated many outreach programs
for the church. After her retirement, she was a certified volunteer
prison chaplain for prisons in Madison and Live Oak.
Mrs. Allen is survived by two sisters, LaVerne Lewis and LaJuan
Boully, as well as two children, Jeanette Allen and Timothy Allen,
four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at graveside at 10:00 am, Saturday,
February 25, 2012, at the Dowling Park Historic Cemetery, Dowling Park, Florida with Rev. Retis Flowers officiating.
The service will be followed by a public reception at the Dowling Park Church of God Fellowship Hall.

Bradys To Appear At Three Madison County Churches
The Reapers of the Harvest Church in Greenville, Bible Deliverance Church in Madison and Midway Church of God in Lee proudly present live in concert from Dothan, Ala., southern gospel recording artists, The Bradys.
The exciting concert at Reapers of the Harvest Church will be held on Saturday, May 21, at 7 p.m. Reapers of the Harvest welcomes everyone to attend. For more information or for directions, please call (850) 971-5546.
On Sunday, May 22, the Bradys will appear during the 11 a.m. service at Bible Deliverance Church, located at South Range Street next to the cotton gin in Madison.
On Sunday evening, the Bradys will appear at Midway Church of God, located at 2485 SE Midway Church Road, just off County Road 255, south of Interstate 10, Lee exit.
Nominated as “Horizon Group of the Year” in southern gospel music and for a Dove award as writers of the Hoppers’ song, “Here I Am,” the Bradys are an energetic group that is igniting fires of enthusiasm all across the country.
Writing most of their own material, their radio singles are constantly in the Top 40 and Top 80 charts. Their original songs are also recorded by many other major recording artists.
This group is played regularly on the Solid Gospel Radio Network and XM Satellite Radio. Some past singles include: “After All,” “Call the Family In,” “In Gloryland,” “Press Through the Crowd,” “Roll Back Old Jordan,” “Still Walking,” “Oh This is It,” “They Just Don’t Know the God I Know,” Hosanna He’s Alive,” “Day Like That,” “I Won’t Need a Picture,” and “Might Go Home Today.”
There is no admission for any of the sings. A love offering will be accepted.
