Man Arrested for Possession of Pot With Intent to Sell

Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on Tuesday morning the 8th day of January 2013, Cpl. Kevin Anderson assigned to the Interstate Criminal Enforcement unit conducted a traffic stop on a black Honda SUV West Bound at mile marker 244 on Interstate 10 for illegal window tint. During the traffic stop, Cpl. Anderson detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the Honda. The driver identified himself as Edwin Thomas Mattox of Tallahassee Florida. Cpl. Anderson noticed that Mattox appeared to be attempting to conceal something in his waist line. Cpl. Anderson then ordered Mattox out of the Honda and instructed him to walk back to the front of Cpl. Andersons patrol vehicle. Mattox exited the Honda and walked to the front of his vehicle and attempted to discard something from his pants. Cpl. Anderson immediately grabbed Mattox and could clearly see a large bulge. Cpl. Anderson removed a gallon size plastic bag from Mattox’s waistline that contained a large amount of high grade marijuana. Mattox was placed under arrest without further incident. The marijuana had a total weight of 8 ounces and had a street value of approximately $3,200.00.
Mattox was arrested and charged as follows:
Edwin Thomas Mattox, DOB: 12/12/1986, 2885 Apalachee Pkwy Apt. 14, Tallahassee, FL 32340
Charge: Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute

Indoor Marijuana Grow Houses Found

Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on Wednesday the 15th day of August 2012 the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint concerning the possible theft of electric power. An investigation into the complaint by the Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force confirmed that electric power was being diverted to two (2) separate structures on the property.
The property was secured and a warrant to search the property was obtained. The property was located at 6939 SW #1 Federal Road Lamont Florida and in the name of Octavio Cruz. The search discovered two (2) active indoor marijuana grow houses and the partial construction of two (2) additional grow houses. A total of 103 marijuana plants were seized from the operation as well as destruction of the functional grow houses. Octavio Cruz was not present at the location and the scene indicated that persons present obviously departed hastily.
The United States Drug Enforcement Administration and the Taylor County Drug Task assisted the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force in the investigation.

Two Arrested For Possession Of Marijuana With Intent To Sell

Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on Thursday the 8th day of March 2012 at 5:40 PM agents of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Drug Taskforce stopped a 1992 Buick sedan traveling east bound on interstate 10 in Madison County for a traffic violation. The Buick was driven by Carl C. Collier of Jacksonville, FL and occupied by passenger Deontre M. Williams.
While taking enforcement action for the traffic violation, agents detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle. Agents conducted a probable cause search and located 6 ounces of high grade marijuana individually packaged for sell along with a digital scale concealed inside the vehicle. Both Collier and Williams were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Four Pounds of Pot: Man Charged With Possession With Intent to Distribute

Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that On Wednesday night February 8, 2012 at 8:45 PM, Agents with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force conducted a traffic stop on a 2008 Chrysler 300 for unlawful speed. The vehicle was traveling westbound on interstate 10 in Madison County and being operated by Kelly Thomas Dunaway.
While Agents were taking enforcement action for the speeding violation, they detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle and additional signs of possible criminal activity. Agents conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and located a black duffle bag inside the trunk. The black duffle bag contained 4 pounds of high grade marijuana.
Kelly Thomas Dunaway, W/M, DOB: 07/22/1989 of Tampa Florida was arrested and charged with the following:
1. Possession of marijuana more than 20 grams
2. Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Man Arrested For Possessing Pot

On Sunday November 20, 2011 at 850 pm, Sgt. C. Cooks was conducting a foot patrol of Madison Heights Apt’s and observed Michael McCall smoking a marijuana cigarette. At this time, Cooks placed McCall under arrest. During a pat down search of McCall, Cooks discovered a small bag of marijuana in his clothing. McCall was transported to the county Jail charged with Poss.of Marijuana less than 20 grams.

Man Arrested For Intent To Sell Drugs, Cadillac Sezed

Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on Friday night June 3, 2011, Madison County Sheriff’s Office Corporal Kevin Anderson conducted a traffic stop in Madison County Florida that resulted in the arrest of Brian Antonio Hallman for felony possession with intent to sell cocaine, marijuana, ecstasy and paraphernalia. The illegal substances were located on the subject’s person and further concealed inside his 1992 Cadillac.
Brian Antonio, B/M, DOB: 12/08/1982 of Madison Florida was arrested without further incident and transported to the Madison County jail. Forfeiture proceedings are pending of the 1992 Cadillac

Two Arrested For Drugs, Paraphernalia

Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on Friday night June 3, 2011, Investigators of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force conducted an investigation that resulted in the arrest of two men for felony possession of marijuana with intent to sell and felony possession of marijuana over 20 grams. Robert Roy StClair Jr, DOB: 12/27/1990 of Branford, FL and Larry M Strickland, DOB: 07/05/1984 of Obrien, FL were stopped for a traffic violation on highway 90 in Madison County Florida. The Task Force canine was utilized and gave a positive indication for the presence of a narcotic odor. Investigators conducted a probable cause search and located more than 3/4 pounds of marijuana and a set of scales used to weigh the drugs for resale. The illegal drugs and paraphernalia were concealed within the vehicle. Both StClair and Strickland were arrested without incident.

Big Marijuana Bust

A total of 103 grams of marijuana was located and a man and a teenage girl were arrested on felony charges of possession of marijuana with intent to sell.

According to a Madison Police Department report, on Thursday, March 10, at 11:06 p.m., Ptl. Travis Johnson conducted a traffic stop on a gold Ford pickup truck for a traffic infraction.
Ptl. Johnson made contact with the driver and observed the odor of burnt marijuana coming form the vehicle. At this time, the driver and passenger of the vehicle were asked to step out of the vehicle.
A consensual search of the vehicle and passengers were conducted. Ptl. Johnson located 103 grams of marijuana during the search.
At this time, passengers Kevin Bell and Alexa Beggs were placed under arrest for Possession of marijuana with intent to sell and transported them to the county jail.
