Grilled Chicken Dinners Available Friday

Madison Church of God will be selling grilled chicken dinners this Friday, Aug. 3, from 11-2 p.m. at the church, located at 771 NE Colin Kelly Highway.
In addition to grilled chicken, dinners will include baked beans, coleslaw, bread and dessert.
Delivery is available for five or more orders. The dinners are priced at $7 each.

Easter Celebration And Cantata Set For Saturday In The Park

A community Easter celebration will be held Saturday, April 7, at the Four Freedoms Park in Madison, from 3-7 p.m.
The Madison Church of God choir will perform an Easter cantata during the celebration.
There will be bounce houses and Easter gifts, as well as many other fun things for children to do.
Everyone is welcome to attend the Easter celebration and cantata.

Obituary: Jimmie Carl Hartley

Mr. Jimmie Carl Hartley, age 74, died Sunday, October 23, 2011, at his home in Lee.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at San Pedro Cemetery with visitation prior to the service from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home in Madison.

He was born in Greenville, Ala., and moved to Lee in 1994. He was a truck driver and attended Madison Church of God.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley DeVane Hartley of Lee; one son, James Gill of Lee; three daughters, Angie Hartley of Montgomery, Ala., Lynn Moody (Danny) of Auburn, Ala., and Michelle Whitworth (Mark) of Tallahassee; two brothers, Marvin Hartley (Gloria) of Honorville, Ala., and Hayward Hartley (Debra) of Cottonwood, Ala.; three sisters, Dorothy Wright, Linda Watson (Dean), and Peggy Fields; four Grandchildren and one step-granddaughter.
