Update: Dionte Davis Sentenced To Life For Attempted Murder, Sexual Battery and Burglary

            Dionte Davis has been sentenced to life in prison. The sentencing took place on Thursday, Feb 17, for attempted first-degree murder, burglary and sexual battery. The charges stem from a home invasion by Davis in April 2010.

            Davis was also sentenced to 30 years in prison on arson charges. 

Sheriff’s Office Press Release (Monday, Feb. 21):
Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on Tuesday the 6th day of April 2010 at approximately 0800 hours, Deputies responded to a scene where a suspect forced entry into a residence, brutally assaulted a victim and committed an attempted murder, Sexual battery, arson and burglary.
Sheriff’s Deputies and Investigators with the assistance of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Crime Analysis Lab and the Tallahassee Police Departments CID were able to identify the suspect as the following:
Dionte Jermaine Davis of Madison Florida, B/M, DOB: 06/05/1986
Records reflect that Davis was sentenced to the State of Florida Department of Corrections in July 2008 and Released in December of 2009 for similar charges.
On Wednesday the 14th day of April 2010 at approximately 2230 hours, Dionte Jermaine Davis was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder, Sexual Battery, Arson and Burglary and was secured in the Madison County jail under a $500,000.00 Bond pending trial.
On Thursday the 17th day of February 2011 a Dionte Davis was found guilty as charged on all four (4) counts and was sentenced to three (3) life sentences plus thirty (30) years.

            The life sentence carries with it a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years until Davis is eligible for parole.
