Madison celebrated the 4th of July with patriotic music and wonderful fireworks under a moonlit sky. The spectacle was held in downtown Madison around Lake Francis where hundreds of enthusiastic citizens gathered for the annual affair. The pyrotechnic display ran continuously for twenty-six minutes and ended with applause from all those attending.

Those back legs were really working in digging a pit for some purpose on the shore of Lake Francis in downtown Madison. Maybe it is time for bring up another family of the shelled creatures that populate the local waterway. If you find one in this posture please try to not bother the work in progress.

It was lunch time on a warm Sunday afternoon and the creatures were out at Lake Francis in downtown Madison, Florida. For late February this was a beautiful day for strolling around the lake after Church. But be very careful in approaching the wildlife. There is much more than what is depicted in the photos. Enjoy the early Springtime weather.
