William “Jack” Hunter, age 81, died Monday, July 2, 2012 at Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2012, at Beggs Funeral Home Madison Chapel with burial at Cherry Lake Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6- 8 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home.
He was born in Grand Ridge and lived in Madison
County, (Cherry Lake) since childhood. He was a farmer and won Outstanding Farm Family in 1967. He was County Commissioner for 12 years and worked at North Florida Community College as a Custodian Supervisor before retiring. He was in the Army 82nd Airborne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Christopher Hunter and Edna Dudley Hunter and sister, Willie Dee Bryant.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Jean Wynn Hunter of Madison; one son, William Hunter (Debbie) of Greenville; two daughters, Traci Mickel of Jasper and Janet Baldwin (Donald) of Lake Park, Ga.; one brother, Jim Hunter (Sue) of Cherry Lake; and six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
