A Madison man died Monday, April 1, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Saturday, March 30, in Hernando County.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Alberto Gonzalez Pujada, age 52, was traveling south on Interstate 75, north of State Road 50, in the outside lane when the left rear tire of his 2004 Ford F-150 blew out.
He lost control of his vehicle, which traveled first to the inside lane, then back across the roadway and onto the shoulder.
Once on the grass shoulder, the pickup overturned several times before coming to a final rest on its left side, facing west.
Both Gonzalez Pujada and his passenger, Agene Gonzalez, age 16, also of Madison, were ejected from the truck.
Agenee Gonzalez was taken to Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson, where she was treated for serious injuries. Her father, who was taken to the same hospital, died from his injuries in the accident on April 1.
Ana Beatriz Carrasco, 21, was taken to Brooksville Regional Hospital where she was treated for serious injuries, including two broken feet. She was trapped in the back with her one-year-old son, Joaquin Williams. Hernando County Fire Rescue cut them out of the truck. He was also taken to the hospital in Brooksville, where he was checked by doctors and was reported uninjured.
Gonzalez Pujada was taken to Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson, where he died on April 1 from injuries in the accident.

Driver Killed
The driver of a 2001 Kia Sephia was killed in an accident at the 267-westbound milepost on Interstate 10 on Sunday morning, April 7.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, at approximately 11:40 a.m., the driver was traveling west on I-10 in the left travel lane. For unknown reasons, the driver veered to the left and off the roadway, where the vehicle traveled southwest across the grass median and across both eastbound traffic lanes.
The Sephia continued traveling in a southeasterly direction onto the south shoulder where it collided with multiple trees on the south shoulder of I-10 with its front.
The car came to a final rest, facing in a northwesterly direction.
Madison County Paramadic Michael Raines pronounced the driver dead at the scene.
The name has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.

A Lee man was killed Wednesday evening at approximately 8:40 p.m., when his car flipped on U.S. 90, about a half-mile east of NE Macedonia Church Road.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Carl Wayne Williams, 62, was traveling east in a 2008 Lincoln, when for unknown reasons, he traveled off the paved road onto the north grassy shoulder.
The Lincoln overturned numerous times, coming to a final rest facing north on the north shoulder of US 90.
Williams was ejected coming to final rest on the north shoulder. He was pronounced deceased on the scene.
FHP was assisted by Madison Sheriff’s Department, Madison EMS and Lee Rescue.
FHP Cpl. Donnie Pitts was the crash and homicide investigator.
Greenville Man Killed In Crash

A Greenville man was killed in a crash early Saturday morning, Oct. 15.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Henry Lee Roberson, Jr., 27, of Greenville, was traveling east on U.S. 90 (west of SW Pettis Circle in Greenville) in the eastbound lane. The right side of Roberson’s 1995 Chevy Impala exited the roadway on the south shoulder.
Roberson overcorrected, causing the Impala to travel across the centerline, where it began to rotate counterclockwise as it entered the westbound lane of US Highway 90 in a northeast direction.
The car then exited the roadway onto the north shoulder where it rotated counterclockwise several more times. Roberson then began to travel in a northeasterly direction along the tree line.
The Impala struck a telephone junction box and several trees with its left side.
The car came to a final rest, facing towards the southwest on the north shoulder of U.S. 90.
Jerry Ladarick Miller, 37, of Greenville, a passenger in the car was killed in the wreck.
Roberson and passenger, Jamie O’Neal Hampton, 31, of Greenville were seriously injured in the crash.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Madison County EMS and the Greenville Volunteer Fire Department assisted FHP at the scene.
FHP Cpl. Scotty A. Lulley was the investigating officer and the homicide investigator.
Madison Teenager Killed In Hamilton County Crash

Seventeen-year-old Amber Carpenter, of Madison, was killed following a two-vehicle crash at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22, in Jasper.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Carpenter was a passenger in a 1993 Ford Explorer driven by Quanisha La’Shoun Jackson, 18, of Jasper.
Jackson and Carpenter were traveling east in the left lane of the Hamilton County High School Access Road, located at 5683 US 129, as Whoe Conn Roberson, 21. of Jasper was traveling south on US 129 in a 1976 Jeep.
Jackson failed to yield the right of way to Roberson and traveled into the path of the Jeep.
The front of the Jeep struck the left front side of the Explorer, causing the Explorer to be redirected in a southeasterly direction on the northbound lane of US 129.
The Explorer came to a final rest, facing in a northeasterly direction on the east shoulder of US 129.
The Jeep came to a final rest , facing southeast on the northbound lane of US 129.
Carpenter was riding in the front passenger seat. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jackson was flown by helicopter to Shands of Gainesville to be treated for serious injuries.
Roberson and the remaining passengers of both vehicles were all transported to Shands of Live Oak.
FHP Trooper Derek L. McClaren was the investigating officer.
FHP Cpl. Rodney W. Howard was the homicide investigator.
