“12 Dates of Christmas” airs Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. on ABC Family
The world premiere of the ABC Family original movie and romantic comedy “12 Dates of Christmas” airing Sunday, Dec. 11 as as part of ABC Family’s popular 25 Days of Christmas event has a special connection to Madison County. The movie is co-written and co-produced by Blake Harris, son of Peggy and Sammy Harris of Madison and brother of Meghan Harris of Madison.
Blake attended Madison County High School and dual enrolled at North Florida Community College. He then attended The University of Miami and moved to Los Angeles soon after graduating. “12 Dates of Christmas” marks his first original project in the movie business and his family couldn’t be prouder.
The movie stars Amy Smart and Mark-Paul Gosselaar and features original songs by Michael Bublé and American Idol winner Jordin Sparks. Spark’s song “Angels are Singing” was written specifically for the project and will make its premiere in the opening of the movie.
After pitching the idea to ABC Family with Aaron Mendelsohn and getting the green light to proceed, Blake and Aaron worked together to write the original story. Mendelsohn and Janet Brownell adapted the script for television with Blake Harris serving as co-producer. Executive producers are Frank von Zerneck and Beth Miller, with Salli Newman producing and Emmy nominated James Hayman directing.
The romantic comedy follows Kate Stanton (Amy Smart) as she ruins a blind date with Miles (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) while trying to reconnect with her ex-boyfriend on Christmas Eve. But fate steps in and Kate must relive her Christmas Eve over and over until she finds true love and learns to stop living in the past. “12 Dates of Christmas” airs Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. on ABC Family.
