The Miss “20th of May” Pageant Committee is still accepting applications for contestants for the 2011 pageant. This year any young lady in high school and/or college interested in participating in the pageant may do so by Saturday, March 19, 2011 @ 9am. The first rehearsal and $35.00 registration fee for the pageant will be held at the Madison County Recreation Center on that date.
Pageants theme: “Gifted, Gorgeous, and Going Places”
The purpose of this pageant is to give young women an opportunity to showcase their talents and abilities in order to better themselves. Miss 20th of May will be a spokeswoman for the Madison county Recreation Association and this annual cultural event. The pageant is in recognition of the Florida’s notification of the Emancipation Proclamation by President Abraham Lincoln.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE: Any young, local resident woman in high school or college never married and never having had a child, is eligible to participate. The delegate must be a resident, citizen or born in the county she will be representing. Appropriate documentation regarding the age and residency status of the delegate must be submitted in order to meet the eligibility requirements.
We also encourage anyone that wants to be on the pageant committee to join the meeting as well. The pageant will be held on Friday, May 20, 2010 at the Madison County Recreation center at 7pm.
