Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on Monday the 14th day of January 2013, Sgt. Doug Haskell assigned to the Interstate Criminal Enforcement unit conducted a traffic stop on a 2007 Chevrolet for unlawful window tint and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle was traveling West Bound on Interstate 10 in Madison County. The driver was identified as Anthony Jerome Hamilton of Greenville, FL.While addressing the traffic infractions with the driver, Sgt. Haskell detected the odor of a controlled substance and other criminal indicators. A consensual search of the vehicle located a blue cloth zip bag concealed inside a Burger King cup in the center console. When looking inside the zip bag, Sgt. Haskell located 2 small plastic bags containing powder cocaine, 1 small plastic bag containing crack cocaine and 1 small plastic bag containing marijuana. Hamilton claimed ownership of the narcotics and was placed under arrest without incident. Hamilton was transported to the Madison County Jail.
