A Madison man died Monday, April 1, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Saturday, March 30, in Hernando County.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Alberto Gonzalez Pujada, age 52, was traveling south on Interstate 75, north of State Road 50, in the outside lane when the left rear tire of his 2004 Ford F-150 blew out.
He lost control of his vehicle, which traveled first to the inside lane, then back across the roadway and onto the shoulder.
Once on the grass shoulder, the pickup overturned several times before coming to a final rest on its left side, facing west.
Both Gonzalez Pujada and his passenger, Agene Gonzalez, age 16, also of Madison, were ejected from the truck.
Agenee Gonzalez was taken to Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson, where she was treated for serious injuries. Her father, who was taken to the same hospital, died from his injuries in the accident on April 1.
Ana Beatriz Carrasco, 21, was taken to Brooksville Regional Hospital where she was treated for serious injuries, including two broken feet. She was trapped in the back with her one-year-old son, Joaquin Williams. Hernando County Fire Rescue cut them out of the truck. He was also taken to the hospital in Brooksville, where he was checked by doctors and was reported uninjured.
Gonzalez Pujada was taken to Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson, where he died on April 1 from injuries in the accident.
