The driver of a 2001 Kia Sephia was killed in an accident at the 267-westbound milepost on Interstate 10 on Sunday morning, April 7.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, at approximately 11:40 a.m., the driver was traveling west on I-10 in the left travel lane. For unknown reasons, the driver veered to the left and off the roadway, where the vehicle traveled southwest across the grass median and across both eastbound traffic lanes.
The Sephia continued traveling in a southeasterly direction onto the south shoulder where it collided with multiple trees on the south shoulder of I-10 with its front.
The car came to a final rest, facing in a northwesterly direction.
Madison County Paramadic Michael Raines pronounced the driver dead at the scene.
The name has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
