On Wednesday night, the Cowboy baseball squad faced off against the Godby Cougars of Tallahassee in the first district game of the season, and the Godby pitcher was not a welcoming host. The Cougars blanked the Cowboys 4 to 0 leaving the Cowboys with a season record of 4 wins and 3 losses. Zack Money was strapped with the loss after allowing four hits and five free passes; however, pitcher Aaron Brown provided hope after relieving and shutting down the Cougars for 2.1 innings. The Cowboys had opportunities to push runs across, but just could never break through.
As a team, the Cowboys had only five hits and one free pass while striking out thirteen times. Patrick Bowen and Jarrod Burns led the way with two singles each, and Zack Money pitched in with a double. This is just one loss and must be forgotten quickly as the Cowboys take the field again tonight at 7 p.m. as hosts against the East Gadsden Jaguars.
Come support the Cowboys as they try and even their record in this all important district game.
