On Sunday November 20, 2011 at 850 pm , Ptl. A. Land was conducting a foot patrol of Madison Heights Apt’s when observed Ricky Roberson on the property. Ptl. Land had prior knowledge of Roberson having a active trespass warning for the property of Madison Heights Apt’s. Ptl. Land made contract with Roberson and attempted to place him under arrest. Roberson physically resisted Ptl. Land by snatching away and attempted to run from the officer. At this time, Ptl. Land deployed his taser striking Roberson causing him to fall to the ground, at which time Ptl. Land had to wrestle Roberson to gain control. Ptl. J. Smith arrived on the scene and assisted with placing handcuffs on Roberson. While both officers were trying to restrain Roberson, his girlfriend Leshea Weatherspoon walked up behind the officers hollering and screaming at the officers. Weatherspooon was told several times to back up but she refused. Weatherspoon was also placed under arrest. During a pat down search of Roberson, officers located a small bag of marijuana in his clothing. Ricky Roberson was charged with Trespass after warning, resisting arrest and poss. of Marijuana less the 20 grams. Leshea Weatherspoon was charged with resisting arrest w/o violence.
