Rummage Sale At The Hanson United Methodist Church

Known as one of the largest rummage sales held in our area each year, this years’ sale at the Hanson United Methodist Church will be held on Saturday, June 4, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. All items have never been displayed before.
On hand with the usual clothing items will be furniture, jewelry, baby clothes and baby items, toys, china, knick-knacks of all kinds, pots and pans, books, silverware and many more exciting finds.
Goods for sale will be displayed under the shelter, complete with fans to provide a little relief from the heat. Others will stretch out under the huge oak tree that will furnish needed shade for visitors. While there, view some history of the tree, and gaze at the hitching post grown into the trunk. This piece of history was in use in the early 1900’s and more that likely even the 1800’s when the only transportation to the church was the horse and buggy.
On church services and other events at the church, parents have to coax children out of the tree to go home. This was their favorite play area, along with the many swings. Come out to the rummage sale and while you shop, give your children a chance to enjoy the old oak tree history.
