Frances Stokes Pinkard, age 79, passed away May 5, 2011 after several years of declining health.
She was born to the late Frank and Effie Stokes of Lee. She graduated from Madison High School and worked several years for the Van H. Priest Company. She and her family moved to Crystal River in 1971 and then moved back to Madison in 2002. She was a lifelong member of Beulah Baptist Church.
Frances was a sweet and loving wife, mother and sister and she will be greatly missed.
Before her illness, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, crafting, yard sales, and mall walking (shopping).
She is predeceased by three sisters, Letha Smith, Eva Nell Lashley and Allie Mae Smith. She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband of 53 years, Alfred, and her beloved daughter, Diane; two brothers, David Stokes (Mary) of Montgomery, Al. and Jim Stokes (Joye) of Tallahassee; two sisters, Elizabeth Bell (Dalton) of Eustis and Helen Thornton (George) of Jacksonville.
She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held on Monday, May 9, at 3 p.m. in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 1:30 to time of the
service. Interment follows at the Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery..
