As of midnight, Sept. 30, Transfield Services North America assumed responsibility for handling services, asset management, contracts and state bids for the Florida Department of Transportation. Transfield Services is a global consulting service that provides consulting and other services across a wide range of industries in both the public and private sector – industries in the areas of resources, energy, industrial, infrastructure, property and defense. According to its website, Transfield works collaboratively with its client industries, providing long term solutions that help achieve their business requirements. In Madison County, that means that Transfield will be responsible for seeing that all state roads and state road right-of-ways and other state infrastructure running though Madison County are maintained and kept in good repair, one of the ways it supports economic development in Madison, Monday afternoon, Transfield hosted a casual “Informational and Contractor Outreach” in its new office at 1311 W. Base Street, inviting contractors, business people and citizens to come by, enjoy some refreshments, learn about the company and “see what we’re all about” said Russ Flowers, general manager for the Madison office.
