October 1, 1943 Misses Minnie Dale and Frances Webb and friends were visiting with Miss Robbie Turlington in Lee a short while Sunday. Friends will be interested to know James Pafford, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Pafford, left Monday for Miami Beach, where he began training as an aviation cadet. Troop 604 of Cherry Lake went on a sealed order hike Sunday afternoon about 2 or 2:30. The hike consisted of about 14 miles. Miss Dot Beggs of Tallahassee will spend the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Jim Beggs.
September 25, 1953 Miss Robbie Cruce recently won the Grand Final Junior Championship Yo-Yo Contest at the Rose Theatre in Thomasville, Ga. Bobbie Ragans has returned to the University of Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Rude were guests of Mrs. P.J. Parramore and Miss Phyllis Parramore Sunday evening. Dr. W.J. Coggins, Jr. and daughter, Pamela, of Boca Grande, were weekend guests of his mother, Mrs. W.J. Coggins.
September 27, 1963 John W. Paul, district governor of Lions International, will address the Madison Lions Club next Tuesday. School Supt. and Mrs. Griffin Bishop attended the meeting of County Superintendents in Gainesville from Wednesday until Friday. The Greenville cheerleaders sponsored a sock hop in the gym last Friday after the game with Cross City. Mr. Broadus Willoughby spent from Saturday until Thursday on a combined visit and business conference in Atlanta and Charlotte.
