New Officers Project A Successful Year For MCCS PTOSep 26th, 2013 | By Admin | Category: Community News, Education
Madison County Central School PTO held its first meeting of the school term on Sept. 9. With a total of 61 people in attendance consisting of parents, teachers, and school administrators, the group discussed their plans to contribute the school. The new officers have met during the summer brainstorming effective fundraisers and ways to contribute to student success at the Central School. The meeting began with the introduction of the new officers: President Renee Groover, Vice-President Salina Barfield, Treasurer Renee Demps, and Secretary Jennifer Stanley. President Renee Groover briefed those in attendance of the organization’s plans to assist teachers, raise money for the school, and volunteer efforts. Each officer will chair a fundraiser overseeing the organization and initiation throughout the school term. President Renee Groover urged all parents to participate in fundraising efforts as it is the simplest method to raise much needed money for the school. Vice-President Salina Barfield will be responsible for the collection and submission of box tops and labels for education. Any parent collecting box tops and labels for education should submit to their child’s teacher in a Ziploc bag with their name, grade, and teacher’s names. Incentives will be given to classrooms and individual students who collect the most for participation. Treasurer Renee Demps will be responsible for the collection and submission of juice pouches (capri-sun or koolaid); containers will be placed in the cafeteria for drop off and will be picked up on Fridays. Secretary Jennifer Stanley will be responsible for the collection and submission of soda tabs and ink cartridges; students should submit any soda tabs in Ziploc bags either to their homeroom teacher or to Mrs. Jennifer Stanley in the school’s library. Future PTO meetings will be held the first Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the school’s cafeteria. PTO welcomes any input or ideas and urge all parents to become part of a great organization in an effort to contribute the success of our students and school as a whole. Please direct all questions and/or concerns to the group’s email at email@example.com.
