June 25-29 4-H Florida Legislature
Every year in June, for one week, Legislature takes place at the Capitol building in Tallahassee. 4-H members from across the state gather to investigate and participate in the legislative process. Youth are housed in dorms on the FSU campus, allowing them exposure to the college experience and to encourage post secondary educational options. Madison County attendees included, Sarah Baltzell, Teagan Dunn, Ryan Floyd, Kelsey Varn and Ricky Varn. Sarah Baltzell received the distinguished Chris Allen Award, given to the outstanding youth of the week as voted on by the Legislature participants. This was Baltzell’s second year as a recipient.
