Jacob’s Ladder: Germ of SinAug 22nd, 2013 | By Jacob | Category: Editorials
There are so many things in my bathroom to keep me clean. Hand wash sits upon the counter, as does the toothpaste. A Dial body wash and shampoo combination sits in the shower. Elsewhere, you can find Neutrogena face wash and shaving cream and the razors. On the chest of drawers in my bedroom sits a bottle of cologne. How hard we try to stay clean and smelling good and strive (and the word “strive” should be emphasized with italics, bolded and underlined in my case) to be attractive. Do I reach my goals? In the natural world, the answer may be “yes” or “no.” In the spiritual world, other than just being clean, does it matter to God? Does it matter that my cologne smells good when He is the Rose of Sharon? Does the Neutrogena face wash and shaving cream really help me fight aging when God is the only one who can replace the ravages of time with laugh lines? Does it matter that my Dial soap kills germs when He is the only one who can kill the germ of sin?
