Wilhemenia Powell Jackson, 52, of Greenville passed away in Tallahassee on Saturday, February 2, 2011. Mrs. Jackson was a native of Greenville where she had worked as a laundry attendant at Cross Landings (Pine Lake) Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was a member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church where the funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sat. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Viewing-visitation will be Friday 3-7 p.m. at TILLMAN OF MONTICELLO (850-997-5553).
Among those mourning Mrs. Jackson’s passing are her sons, Joseph (Kimberly) Jackson, John Jackson and Joe Jackson, III; a niece whom she raised as a daughter, Shaquitha (Bryan) Whitfield; brothers, Carl (Alice) Powell, Gerald Powell, Lorenzo (Evelyn) Powell and Marvin Powell; sisters, Sarah Lou Lott and Nora Jones; nine grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Jackson was predeceased by her parents, John Lewis and Willie Mae Mills Powell.
