I live within the city limits of Madison and it seems to me that we have more buzzards visiting our urban area than in the past. Maybe it is just me but these less than beautiful feathered creatures are in the air flying over homes and yards more often this year. Did something die close by? Is their internal GPS off? Have they exhausted their usual hunting grounds? I don’t know but it was more fun when we had the Red Tailed Hawks landing nearby. These photos were taken Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at around 10:30 AM in my backyard. But these are not the first ones to make a visit this year.
