Carrin Rebecca Meadows, 40, the store manager of the Wells Fargo Bank in Madison was killed in a traffic accident in Valdosta, Ga., Monday afternoon, Aug. 21.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, a pickup truck was traveling down Howell Road with a trailer and lawn mower in tow.
The pickup truck struck Meadows’ car on its left side as she attempted to turn left onto Howell Road from Otter Creek Road, Georgia State Trooper First Class Victor Mobley said.
The impact of the collision sent both the pickup and the car over the ravine, which did not have a guardrail, into Grand Bay Creek below.
All parties involved in the wreck were transported to South Georgia Medical Center.
Attempts to resuscitate Meadows were unsuccessful.
A dive team from the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to look for evidence in the creek so that the Georgia State Patrol can reconstruct the accident.
Two others were seriously injured in the accident.
Carrin resided in Lake Park, Ga. Her husband, as well as two daughters, Christine Elliott and Curstie Day, and four grandchildren survive her. She had worked at the bank in Madison for 10 years.

Labor Day All Pro Dads Breakfast

In conjunction with All Pro Dads, there will be a breakfast on Labor Day morning, Monday September 3rd at the MCHS cafeteria at 8:00 a.m. If you are a father, please plan on joining us for breakfast and an introduction to the All Pro Dad chapter that will be forming in Madison County. All you need as a ticket to get in, is to bring your son or daughter with you to the breakfast. This is a great oppurtunity to help show or young people what being a Dad is all about and will help all of us become better equipped to strengthen our relationships with our children. Fatherless homes is an epidemic in our country and it is not any different in Madison County. For mor einformation, take a visit to www.allprodad.com and see what we want our chapter to be all about. Indoor Marijuana Grow Houses Found

Indoorgrowhouse

Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on Wednesday the 15th day of August 2012 the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint concerning the possible theft of electric power. An investigation into the complaint by the Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force confirmed that electric power was being diverted to two (2) separate structures on the property.
The property was secured and a warrant to search the property was obtained. The property was located at 6939 SW #1 Federal Road Lamont Florida and in the name of Octavio Cruz. The search discovered two (2) active indoor marijuana grow houses and the partial construction of two (2) additional grow houses. A total of 103 marijuana plants were seized from the operation as well as destruction of the functional grow houses. Octavio Cruz was not present at the location and the scene indicated that persons present obviously departed hastily.
The United States Drug Enforcement Administration and the Taylor County Drug Task assisted the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force in the investigation.
