TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The U.S. Forest Service is prescribed burning approximately 3,000 acres in the Apalachicola National Forest today. The prescribed burn will take place slightly southwest of Tallahassee in the Lake Talquin area, south of State Highway 20. The burn will improve wildlife habitat, eliminate vegetation build up and reduce the threat of wildfires.
