Make sure you brush and floss before and after you kiss a pig at the North Florida Livestock Show and Sale. Dentist Matt Allen, of Madison Dental Associates, puckers up and gives the pig some sugar. He was the “winner” in the annual fundraiser for Relay for Life.

ACA Lady Warriors Play For District Title
The Aucilla Christian Academy Lady Warriors won last night, against Malone, 44-36. ACA will play for the District Title against the FAMU Lady Rattlers, Friday at home. Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m.

Friday, January 21, will mark the 16th birthday of my daughter, Brooke.
The driver’s license office will be the first stop of the day, but “normal” birthday celebrations will have to wait until Saturday, for Friday will be filled with school and basketball games.
16 – I can’t believe my “baby” has gotten that old. And if she is that old, then that makes me……
The ever-important age of 16; the age of a “real” driver’s license, dating, and being more and more places that I’m not.
Having/Raising children is truly a blessing from God. There is no greater gift, than that of a child. However, there is also no greater responsibility than that of raising a child. We raise our children, to the best of our ability, and we try to give them the knowledge and courage to stand on their own two feet, when we cannot be with them. The most that we can hope for is that when they are “on their own” some of that guidance, and knowledge, sticks with them and that they then can make the best decisions/choices, for themselves.
Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
I am very proud of the young lady that Brooke is turning into. Her tender heart gives her the compassion and the ability to love everyone; her outgoing personality gives her the ability to make friends with anyone; and her love for life, in general, makes her a joy to be around. But most of all I am so proud of her Christian ethics and her moral values. She is truly beautiful on the outside AND on the inside.
Happy birthday, Brooke! I Love You and I’m So Very Proud Of You!
God blessed me well 16 years ago, and every moment since then!

In the “business world,” this holds true, also. Whatever our job may be, sometimes we forget to step back and really look at what others might see, or think.
I’d like to take this time to thank our readers, and patrons, for the telephone calls, letters, and Letters To The Editor, that we receive. Whether the intention is positive, or negative, it is good to hear from “the public,” for this lets us (the newspaper) know what you like, and don’t like.
We try our best, as your local hometown newspapers, to serve the public in the best way that we can. We try to stay abreast of the local news and happenings so that we may pass that same information on to you.
As hard as we try, sometimes, we just don’t know of EVERYTHING that might be coming up in the community. I would like to encourage everyone to please call our office and let us know if an event is happening, that you would like (or think needs to be) covered. We will do our best to be there and cover it to the best of our ability.
I know that we can’t please everyone in our community. With each story that is printed, some will like it – some will not. “We don’t make the news, we just report it” has become my favorite quote; as it holds the same for all media. It is our job to let the citizens of Madison County know what is happening in Madison County. The good, the bad, and the ugly are all a part of that scenario.
Thank you for your patronage and please feel free to call our office at any time. We truly appreciate your thoughts and ideas and welcome any suggestions that you might have. We especially look forward to learning of events happening in our county that we might not know about.
