74-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck and Killed

A 74-year-old Mayo resident was stuck by a vehicle on US Hwy. 90 on June 6 at 5:35 p.m. According to the FHP report, Bridget B. Malone, 41, of Greeneville, was traveling westbound on a left-hand curve on Hwy. 90, approximately one-half mile west of Northwest Pickle Lane.
The front of the Toyota Camry collided with the left leg of Tommy David Lyon Phillips, 74, of Mayo, who was walking westbound on the right side of the road on the white line. After impact the vehicle came to a final rest on the north shoulder of Hwy. 90.
Phillips was pronounced deceased at 6:05 p.m. on June 6, at Madison County Memorial Hospital.
Charges are pending an investigation.
